Oxford World Classics (HC)
Don't let the plain covers on these books fool you. Some of the most well-known stories are contained beneath them. It's a shame that so many of the hardcover editions are no longer available, but get as many as you can for your high schoolers to use with the Accelerated Reading List--these titles count for lots of points. New introductions by various award-winning authors make these a real keepsake item.
Oxford World Classics (PB)
If you're looking for some "classic" classics, you'll find them here in this category. Many of the titles listed aren't on any other list because, of course, these are from Oxford University and how could we expect anything less? I'm especially thrilled about selections from Julius Ceasar, ancient philosophers and early American patriots. It's amazing that we can share their thoughts even though they wrote them down so very many years ago. You might notice the titles from Ann Ward Radcliffe, especially "The Mysteries of Udolpho." If you'll remember, this title was discussed in the Jane Austen book, "Northanger Abbey."
World's Classics (PB)
These are the titles that used to be available in hardcover--same material, less cost. There are a lot of titles here that I want to read for myself. I'm always trying to aquaint myself with new material classic-wise and this is a great way to do it. There are several titles by well-known authors that I've never seen before, in fact, I thought they had been out-of-print for many years. I'm so glad that they're still available, even though it's only in paperback.
